The Warriors 2006-2007 Season
Sorry for not updating sooner. I am going to try to update somewhat regularly, but not every game like last year. I am just going to go with short updates to let you know how the team is playing, their record and noticeable things that I would like to point out.
The Warriors have started the season with a 7-3 record. They started the first 5 games going 2-3, but now they are in the process of a 5 game winning streak that is on the line tonight against the Phoenix Suns. Most impressive so far has been the play of Baron Davis, Andris Biedrins and Monta Ellis.
Baron Davis has taken the chance to lead this team and he is doing a phenomenal job 20.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game.
Andris Biedrins has secured the spot as the Warriors starting center since Adonal Foyle has been relegated to not playing and the Mike Dunleavy at PF and Troy Murphy at center experiment didn’t work well. Biedrins is averaging 8.5 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.2 blocks a game.
Monta Ellis in his second season has relished the opportunity to play that he has been given. With Jason Richardson still working his way back from knee surgery in the off-season, Ellis has averaged 17.5 points per game while he has been in the process of learning to play the point guard position instead of his customary spot at shooting guard.
Overall, so far the Warriors have been quite successful, but so far with 7 of those first 10 games being at home, there are still some concerns about their ability to play on the road. With only 1 win out of the 3 road games, the Warriors will need to do much better if they want to break their NBA leading 12 seasons with no playoff appearances.
