It is Fantasy Time Again

Well folks, I just completed the draft for the fantasy basketball league I am in this year. It isn't the best team, but I think they could do alright. I am still not sure how well it will go this year, but it is fun to try my hand at it. Maybe when the season gets going I will mention how my team is doing. Not sure yet, but just wanted to mention it. The team is as follows:

Baron Davis, Jason Richardson, Jalen Rose, Gerald Wallace, Antawn Jamison, Jermaine O'Neal, Kurt Thomas, Jamaal Magloire, Nene Hilario, Tyson Chandler, Juan Dixon, Antonio Daniels, Antonio McDyess and Derek Fisher.

I am also in another league but the league hasn't drafted yet so I will most likely post that team later. That's it for now. I hope all your fantasy teams turn out well, unless you are in my league, hahahaha.

Concluding the Preseason and the Start of the Regular Season

Well the Warriors finished their last game of the preseason last night against the Phoenix Suns. Unfortunately they fell to them 97-92. My analysis of their performance can be summed up in just a couple of words. The Warriors still have some work to do. The Warriors still played sloppy, too many turnovers and just like last year, they were horrendous at defensive rebounding. This is what definitely cost them the game. As for the sloppiness I believe they can get that squared away by the start of the season. Let's just hope that the defensive rebounding will come along quickly as well. Of course last night they played without Adonal Foyle and Ike Diogu, so when those two are healthy things could become better for them. On a funny side note I was watching the highlights of the other games from yesterday and I saw exactly why the Dallas Mavericks will never win a championship with Dirk Nowitzki as their leader. He is SOFT!!! He fouled Carlos Arroyo of the Detroit Pistons and Arroyo took exception to it and got right up into Dirk's face and proceeded to shove him a bit. Now Arroyo is right around 6 feet tall and Dirk is a 7 footer. If a guy that much smaller then you isn't afraid to get right in your face then you are doing something wrong and you are soft. Those are my thoughts for now.

A New Eastern Conference Playoff Contender Emerges

Well, I just want to discuss some of the news as it happened today. The New Orleans Hornets traded away Jamaal Magloire to the Milwaukee Bucks for Desmond Mason a First Round pick and cash considerations. This looks like it will definitely be a good trade for the Bucks. They get a pretty good Center in Magloire who used to be an All-Star, and this allows them some slack if Andrew Bogut isn't ready to produce right off the bat. If Bogut can produce they could have a strong twin towers kind of front court. I thought Milwaukee could be a playoff team before the trade, after the trade I think they could be in the top 5 in the East. Not a lock of course, but a pretty legitimate shot. As for the New Orleans Hornets, they once again lose an All-Star (previously Baron Davis to the Golden State Warriors) and they get only some good but not great players in return. The plus side for Desmond Mason in his move to Milwaukee is that he becomes a starter and could put up some nice numbers alongside the exciting backcourt of J.R. Smith and Chris Paul. Of course they have no big men to speak of anymore so expect them to still finish last in the Western Conference.

The Initial "Godfather" Blog

Well, this is my first ever blog, so this probably won't be a long post. I have to get used to doing this first. In general, this is going to be a post that revolves around basketball. More specifically I will be dealing with the NBA and the Golden State Warriors, since that is the team that I live and die watching. I am not sure how I am going to do this yet. Maybe I will try posting the day after games to give my take on what happened, then post whenever I have something else I want to talk about. I hope that this can be informative and everyone enjoys reading it. Feel free to drop your feedback as well. That is all for now. There will be more to come in the future.
